Check if you need a model release. Photos of people can only be sold for commercial use if they've signed a 'model release' that gives you permission to use their image (children need a parent/guardian to sign). Without a release, these photos can still be sold for editorial use, as long as they were taken in a public place – eg, if you submitted a 'breaking news' shot with people in the background. If there's any doubt, always ask permission.
If you would like to take a more subtle approach, include a product or service from your company that relates into your blog post. For example, let’s say that you are a wine connoisseur and that is what your blog is based around. In any post that is enticing your readers to open up a good bottle of Merlot or what have you, it would be wise to embed an ad for a quality, easy-to-use wine opener, wine glasses or stoppers that keep the wine fresh.
16. Use Facebook groups to find people who will follow your page. Remember all of those groups you found way back in part one that were potentially valuable but have rules against advertising? You can network with those people in a way that gets them to be readers and gets them to promote your page to their own audiences, and even within the group.
Well, I think what you’re describing in this post is different from what I want to do. I could share photos to FB by starting on Amazon (as described above). But what I want to do is share my own blog post that contains AA images. I don’t want to simply offer folks a chance to buy a book I recommend, I want them to read my post about a book I recommend. (And in the post, they can click through to Amazon to buy the book if they want.)

As someone who's been immersed in a number of online industries for quite some time, I know a thing or two about what it takes to succeed in this arena. However, just like you, I started at ground zero with little knowledge, but a great deal of passion. What I learned along the way were some invaluable lessons from failure that hurt at the time, but helped immensely in the grand scheme of things.
If I have a blog that is getting 100,000 page views a month that means that I’m probably getting at least 50,000 people to the site (most blogs will do between 1.2 to 1.4 pages per session). That means I have to try and get some small percentage of those people to buy something from me if I really want to do well. If I can’t get them to buy something then (in some cases) I have ads running on the site that will make me money anyways.
Learn then selling guidelines. Each marketplace has guidelines that define what you can and cannot sell. State and federal laws also impact what items are prohibited. In general, you cannot sell alcohol, weapons, service contracts, animals or event tickets. Also, while not always prohibited, you may find restrictions on how you can sell items in some categories, such as art, gift cards and coupons.[27] eBay, Craigslist and Amazon publish these guidelines on their websites.

If you're ready to enter the ecommerce fray, you could sell your own stuff. Of course, along with selling your own stuff on your own website comes a whole slew of both responsibilities and technical configuration and requirements. For starters, you'll need a website and a hosting account. You'll also need a merchant account like ones offered by Stripe or PayPal. Then you'll need to design that site, build a sales funnel, create a lead magnet and do some email marketing.
11. Promote individual pieces of content using your business page. Business pages have better ability to reach specific groups of people, through organic post targeting and through ads. It’s always a better idea to share content than homepages on a business page, though, so you need to have a content production engine going if you want to keep this up. Consistency is important here.
“Have your affiliate landing page ready. Be clear and concise as to what the benefits for affiliate partners are. For SaaS especially, if you can offer a free or test account for affiliate partners to play around with your product. Your affiliate partners are people at the end of the day. If you’re just starting out developing your Facebook mission, one great place to start is with your fans’ expectations. What can your fans expect when they become a fan of your page? One optimal place to display expectations is on a custom welcome tab so all of your new fans will know what to expect before they start engaging on your wall. Considering that most marketing involves some form of published media, it is almost (though not entirely) redundant to call 'content marketing' anything other than simply 'marketing'. There are, of course, other forms of marketing (in-person marketing, telephone-based marketing, word of mouth marketing, etc.) where the label is more useful for identifying the type of marketing. Facebook also provides you with a way to manage your posts and content over time. You could manage all your posts (including the ones you choose to hide) from a central location. You can filter stories by year or type, or edit, delete, or star posts. You can also choose to review timestamps and make sure your posts accurately show up under respective milestones.

Online marketing is the practice of leveraging web-based channels to spread a message about a company’s brand, products, or services to its potential customers. The methods and techniques used for online marketing include email, social media, display advertising, search engine optimization, and more. The objective of marketing is to reach potential customers through the channels where they spend time reading, searching, shopping, or socializing online.
Marketing automation adds another wrinkle to the conversation. Some affiliates automate their posts with software like Hootsuite, but I don’t. I’ve tried automating on Facebook and was unimpressed with my results. I prefer to post natively and schedule content to meet my objectives. Still, using a third-party automation application could work for you.
In the past, large affiliates were the mainstay, as catch-all coupon and media sites gave traffic to hundreds or thousands of advertisers. This is not so much the case anymore. With consumers using long-tail keywords and searching for very specific products and services, influencers can leverage their hyper-focused niche for affiliate marketing success. Influencers may not send advertisers huge amounts of traffic, but the audience they do send is credible, targeted, and has higher conversion rates. 
"News Feed Ads", also called "Sponsored Stories", "Boosted Posts", typically exist on social media platforms that offer a steady stream of information updates ("news feed"[38]) in regulated formats (i.e. in similar sized small boxes with a uniform style). Those advertisements are intertwined with non-promoted news that the users are reading through. Those advertisements can be of any content, such as promoting a website, a fan page, an app, or a product.
There is serious competition in the affiliate marketing sphere. You’ll want to make sure you stay on top of any new trends to ensure you remain competitive. Additionally, you’ll likely be able to benefit from at least a few of the new marketing techniques that are constantly being created. Be sure you’re keeping up to date on all these new strategies to guarantee that your conversion rates, and therefore revenue, will be as high as possible.

The other consideration is the FTC guidelines that came out in 2009.  They do require that you disclose when you are receiving a commission on a product you are promoting.  You can read all the gory details here:  FTC Affiliate Guidelines.  These guidelines mostly came from the spammy promotions and false claims that people were making to sell stuff.  But they affect how you should post.  Basically you need to disclose that you will get a commission if people purchase the product.  Watch the video for to see the language I use and how to ensure the trust of your community.


While I would recommend experimenting with different types of posts, videos seem to be the most popular content format at the moment. According to a study by Buzzsumo on 880 million Facebook posts published by brands and publishers, videos get, on average, twice the level of engagement than other post types. If you’re posting videos, remember to optimize them for mobile consumption.
