9. Promote your site in general via your personal news feed. Generally, your friends and family will be supportive of any creative endeavor or personal business you’re starting, and even more so if you’re successful with it. Sharing it can get some of them on board, and potentially get your friends to share it with their friends, who might follow it as well. Friends aren’t the best or highest converting demographic, but they can be a good supplement or a boost.
My favorite style in this is article marketing. You create anchor content on your website or blog, then you build authority-content links to that content, effectively driving up the visibility. I've used this single strategy to rank hundreds of keywords in the #1 spot on Google, and I would highly recommend that if you're going to learn any marketing strategy, that you get really good at this one.
And while you’re at it -- don’t create an additional public, “professional” profile associated with your business. For example, I already have a personal profile on Facebook that I largely keep private; the practice I’m talking about would be if I created a second, public one under the name “AmandaZW HubSpot,” or something along those lines. People usually do that to connect with professional contacts on Facebook, without letting them see personal photos or other posts. But the fact of the matter is that creating more than one personal account goes against Facebook's terms of service.
